With my God I can leap a wall...
Do you love the Psalms? Do you appreciate how David brought to life how to live life? Today’s verse is from a Psalm we often read, but by the time we get to this verse, we have probably zoned out.
Psalm 18:29-30
“For you, Adonai, light my lamp;
Adonai, my God, lights up my darkness.
With you I can run through a whole troop of men,
with my God I can leap a wall. (CJB)
Most of us know and believe that Adonai’s Words are the lamp to our feet and light to our path. Most of us hold to the fact that HE makes a way when there seems to be no way.
Verse 30 is the one that is interesting… David says that he can “run through a whole troop of men.” Then he says he can, “leap a wall.” How? Is he superman?
As I was pondering this a bit I realized that maybe David means that he can truly do ALL things through Christ. There is the idea that with God ALL things are possible, so with God on his side, David felt like he could “conquer the world” so to speak.
Sometimes God asks us to do things that are hard. Sometimes God wants us to go outside of our comfort zone so HE can show us who is in control. Sometimes God wants us to just BELIEVE that we can do something.
I don’t always like tight quarters, but this last time I was in Israel the couples I was with wanted to walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel. I was not dressed for this event, as I had jeans and tennis shoes on and the water was going to come up above my knees, however I knew I was supposed to go. I figured out the plan and for 40 minutes I walked barefoot through the tunnel that had water and was pretty far underground. It was dark and we only had to light from our phones.
As we exited I KNEW that God had me accomplish that for a reason. I KNEW that HE took me on that path to show me that HE can help me do anything. It was an experience of KNOWING that HE is the light to our feet and lamp to our path. HE can help me “leap a wall.”
TRUST Him today. HE is your Rock and Salvation. HE deserves your praise! Than HE will help you through every tough situation.
Love and blessings,
Rose
