I know that my Redeemer lives...

Life happens. It happened to Job. I think most of us know his story. We know some of his reaction, but this particular verse brings clarity to how he really trusted God.

Job 19:25

“But I know that my Redeemer lives,

that in the end he will rise on the dust; (CJB)

I knew the first line as a hymn we sung often in church growing up. What I did not realize as I was singing it was, this line is in the OLD TESTAMENT! The person who said this was someone who did not even know his “Messiah!”

Job only knew His Father, Creator and God. He had no idea that someday there would be a “Savior.” He just TRUSTED God and KNEW that the Father was his Redeemer. He gave THANKS in the middle of all the craziness that happened to him.

This verse made me realize how much the “Old” and “New” Testaments really MUST work together to teach us. If Job can realize that he has a Redeemer, we need to realize that Jesus fulfills so much from the past.

All of us need to stop and think about what we need to “relearn” and ponder on. How can we tie everything together to bring unity to the whole Bible?

We also need to ask ourselves WHO is our Redeemer? Do we view the ONE who created us as the ONE who eventually came and truly redeemed us when He died on the cross?

So many things to think about. May we ALL know that when HE returns, the DUST will rise.

Love and blessings,

Rose
