How to use words
Proverbs 10:16-21
The activity of the righteous is for life; the income of the wicked is for sin.
17 He who observes discipline is on the way to life; but he who ignores correction is making a mistake.
18 He who covers up hate has lips that lie, and anyone who slanders is a fool. 19 When words are many, sin is not lacking; so he who controls his speech is wise. 20 The tongue of the righteous is like pure silver, but the mind of the wicked is worth little. 21 The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of sense.
We see the word, "LIFE" again twice.
The activity of the righteous is for LIFE
He who observes discipline is on the way to LIFE
In order to have LIFE we do something. We ACT right. We observe discipline.
Verse 18 says, "He who covers up hate has lips that lie." 19 says, "When words are many, sin is not lacking."
Be careful around those who like to talk a lot. We have learned that those who are wise "withheld their knowledge" and only share it as needed. Those who like to talk, we must watch out for them. Those who "control their speech are wise."
There is a lot packed in these couple verses. The pieces of information that Solomon shares are so key to bringing us LIFE. I pray that each and every day you find another nugget of wisdom to tuck in your heart and mind so you can become stronger in HIM and HIS wisdom.
Love and blessings,
