Be a blessing...
Matthew 21:12-13
12 Yeshua entered the Temple grounds and drove out those who were doing business there, both the merchants and their customers. He upset the desks of the money-changers and knocked over the benches of those who were selling pigeons. 13 He said to them, “It has been written,‘My house will be called a house of prayer.’ But you are making it into a den of robbers!”
Isaiah 56:7
I will bring them to my holy mountain
and make them joyful in my house of prayer;
their burnt offerings and sacrifices
will be accepted on my altar;
for my house will be called
a house of prayer for all peoples.”
Jeremiah 7:11
Do you regard this house, which bears my name, as a cave for bandits? I can see for myself what’s going on,” says Adonai.
A friend posted about these verses the other day and shared how people used these for purposes to prove they can riot and loot. People say that because Jesus knocked over tables and benches they can damage buildings and businesses.
God is NOT about that. God says to LOVE our enemies. God says to bless those who curse you.
Jesus turned tables over because they were using God's Temple for purposes they should not. The religious people of the day turned a place of worship (this is the only reason they went to the Temple - to worship) into a place to buy and sell. Jesus did not turn tables and benches over just because He didn't like their political point of view. Jesus did not steal, kill, or destroy lives when He did this.
The Words Jesus spoke were once again from the prophets. Isaiah and Jeremiah both offered words that said the Temple was going to be for worship. In Jeremiah it was a known fact that it was being used for bandits. The struggle was real. For many years people did not understand how to respect the house of God.
Maybe this is why God allowed that "house" to be destroyed. Maybe He allowed that building to be tore down for a reason.
If you remember, the Words of God clearly stated that He wanted HIS WORDS to be written on hearts and the flesh of men, not placed in a building. He wants us to "hide His Word in our hearts." Then, in our HOMES, and on the street, we can be the light He wants us to be.
Stop and be HIS light. Speak Truth. Be ready for HIS action plan. And remember - it can happen anywhere. It doesn't need to be in a building. It can be outside, in homes, and on the street. Just be HIS blessing.
Love and blessings,
Rose
