The Word in all its RICHNESS...
Today is a Sunday, but no matter the day of the week, the verse today should encourage us to GIVE THANKS!
Colossians 3:16
let the Word of the Messiah, in all its richness, live in you, as you teach and counsel each other in all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude to God in your hearts. (CJB)
The favorite part of this version of this verse is, “in all its RICHNESS.” The WORD of God is RICH in TRUTH.
The NIV says, “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly” which does not exemplify the same understanding the word “richness” (in my opinion). The ESV and TPT have the same words.
Truly the Word of God has many gems to offer us. When the Word of God, “lives in you” and is hidden in your heart, you can WALK in WISDOM. You can confidently TEACH and COUNSEL one another in that wisdom.
When we allow the Word of God to penetrate our minds deeply, we can sing psalms, hymns, spiritual songs… We will find ourselves grateful and filled with HIS love. We will KNOW that God loves us and share that LOVE.
Take HIS WORD and let it LIVE IN you. Fill yourself with the RICHNESS it offers. Then SHARE that LIFE with others.
Be THANKFUL. SING. FILL your heart with GRATITUDE. Let those RICHES flow forth to those around you.
