Into HIS Wonderful Light...
Today we light the 4th candle of Chanukah. In our family that means we learn about Kindness!
It is also another verse about LIGHT! Today I chose I Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen people, the King’s cohanim, a holy nation, a people for God to possess! Why? In order for you to declare the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (CJB)
First, let me explain what the word, “cohanim” means. It is the Hebrew word for priest.
What a great verse this is.
YOU are a CHOSEN person.
YOU are a PRIEST of the KING.
YOU are part of a HOLY NATION.
YOU are person GOD LIVES IN!
Those are promises that should not be lightly valued. These should put us in mindset of PRAISE! We truly should be declaring HIS PRAISE.
WHY???
Because HE called us out of darkness into HIS WONDERFUL LIGHT!
Something we need to realize - this is NOT our light! This is HIS LIGHT! If HE lives in us, than everything we do should reflect HIM!
Everything we do should point people around us to HIM!
May this verse remind you that you are a CHILD of the MOST HIGH GOD. Once this registers in your mind and heart, than you will want to declare PRAISE and point people to HIM.
Enjoy Chanukah Night 4, knowing that you are HIS LIGHT.
