God wants to DWELL with YOU

One of the first verses I saw this morning was from Revelation. It was on my FB wall as a memory from several years ago. It addressed the Alpha and Omega. My initial thought was to speak about that.

However, during our morning Bible Time I shared the verse from John 1:14:

The Word became a human being and lived with us,

and we saw his Sh’khinah,

the Sh’khinah of the Father’s only Son,

full of grace and truth.

When I finished reading it, one of my daughters asked me what Shekhinah meant. I had always heard it explained as the glory of the Lord. His Shekhinah filled the Tabernacle. His Shekhinah glory led them from the cloud when they were in the wilderness. In this verse it would mean his Shekhinah glory was with us.

I chose to look up what the word actually means, and I found that it was not in the Bible at all. That the Hebrew word used in the Old Testament was mishkan. It meant to dwell or settle. The root of mishkan is the same as the root of Shekhinah. In Hebrew this can happen.

Using the word Shekhinah was brought in by the rabbi’s later. However, it does fully reflect what God wants us to understand. God wants us to recognize that HE is dwelling among us. God wants us to recognize that HE is settling in our midst.

In the verse above, it is clear that God sent HIS SON to be a human being. God sent HIS SON to dwell among us. To be with us in human form. That person was full of GRACE and TRUTH.

Today, claim that fact. Claim the understanding that God loved you so much that He sent His Son to dwell among the people and teach them. What they learned was written down for us so we might know.

The Word makes it clear that when Jesus was taken from the earth, the Holy Spirit was left as our comforter. Our Abba Father has never left us alone.

Love and blessings,

Rose
