God is the Maker of EVERYTHING
The verse of the day on my YouVersion Bible App was this
Ecclesiastes 11:5:
Just as you don’t know the way of the wind
or how bones grow in a pregnant woman’s womb,
so you don’t know the work of God,
the maker of everything.
Wind blows and causes many problems at times. We don’t know what to expect when heavy, hard winds come. Gentle winds that blow on our faces are usually welcomed, but even they can cause things to fly away that we need.
It is interesting that the Holy Spirit is likened to the wind. The Ruach HaKodesh. Ruach is wind in Hebrew. Ha is the and Kodesh is Spirit. If we stop to think about what this means, the Holy Spirit can bring things into our life that we do not understand, or like. It can convict us of thoughts or sins. It can also bring a gentle encouragement to our soul. We must be ready for each and every thought that the Spirit places within us.
This verse also shows us how creatively we are made. We do not understand how bones grow in a pregnant woman’s womb. It truly is a miracle. Our Creator is amazing!
God is the Maker of EVERYTHING. We will not understand His ways. The Word tells us that His ways are higher than our ways. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8-9 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
and your ways are not my ways,” says Adonai.
“As high as the sky is above the earth
are my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
When we trust God with our whole heart, and lean on Him for all understanding, we don’t have to know everything He is going to bring our way. Our faith will cause us to stay grounded when the wind comes. Our trust will bring peace because we know that He is ultimately in control of ALL things. When the wind blows, we will be ready for whatever comes our way.
If we truly believe that He is the Maker of EVERYTHING, we can find rest for our souls.
